The Psychology Field Group at Pitzer College is recruiting a tenure-track, Assistant Professor of Psychology: Developmental Psychology. Desirable areas of specialization include Cognitive Development or Education. A Ph.D. or Ed.D. in a relevant discipline is required. Candidates must be well prepared to offer courses in quantitative and/or qualitative research methods. We expect a capability and commitment to teach research methods (quantitative) and a specialized research course (quantitative and/or qualitative).
We are interested in teacher-scholars whose work intersects with the core values of the college: social responsibility, intercultural understanding, interdisciplinary learning, student engagement, and/or environmental sustainability. Candidates should articulate these connections in the cover letter.

Compensation range: $93,000 – $95,000
The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty, and training. Requirements
Teaching load is five courses per academic year, typically reduced to four courses in the first year, and may include introductory psychology, mid-level courses in developmental, cognitive, and/or educational psychology, research methods, specialized research practica and seminar courses in the candidate’s area(s) of specialization, and occasionally a writing-intensive first-year seminar.
